A tribute to Marc Chagall. It’s titled the Birthday.

I love the dreamy quality of his paintings. This particular piece is very romantic and sweet.

I assume that it’s the birthday of the woman. She didn’t expect him to remember, but he did. He even brought her flower and surprised her with a kiss.

In this reproduction, I love how the model shows a strong, independent and defiant look both in her facial expression and pose. It contrast the sweet nature or the woman in the painting showing how one can be both independent but also long to be wooed.

The foggy and vintage looking visual treatment is aimed to portray reminiscence of a moment in time that one treasures.

What

Paint on and get painted by your partner.

This is a casual workshop for anyone who wants to practice or explore the art of body painting. We will have snacks, drinks and music to help you get in the creative mood.

Bring a friend, lover, partner, mom, dad, or brother! This class is geared towards creating some art on one another in a fun and engaging atmosphere. The class will start structured with some examples and techniques demonstrated by the instructor; as the students get comfortable working with the paints, they will be free to express themselves however they see fit. The instructor will be providing individual attention and guidance for each student, insuring a thorough hands-on training. .

Throughout the class, our in house photographer will document the process. You will receive the images free of charge and we will let you know how to obtain the pictures during the class..

You don’t need to bring anything to the class other than your friend/partner..

I will do 2 body paintings at this event. After that, I’ll be painting the guests. So if you want to get painted, come join us.

Also, I will be “selling” my prints but not at a fixed price. It’s going to be a “pay-as-you-wish” system.

About the event

The exhibition Art About Love, curated by Caroline Glemann and Eleonora Milano, depicts artistic expressions of this complicated emotion in mixed-media from painting, collage, photography and jewelry.

In addition, artist Danny Setiawan will be body painting on a live model at the Reception, and guests are welcome to volunteer to be art for the evening.

The group show opens to the public on Friday, February 12th at 5:00pm. The variety of works invite the viewer to contemplate the nature of love from the sublime, erotic, playful and the passionate.

Love is one of the most inspiring muses, especially for Gallery Owner and Jewelry Designer, Caroline Glemann. Her collection of engagement ring and wedding band commissions are exhibited in the permanent collection at Liloveve.

Another tribute to Gustav Klimt, one of my favorite painters.

The model for this painting has a very similar look as the figure in the painting, which I think is a very nice juxtaposition.
